What is Exercise Referral?

Exercise Referral is 12 week supported gym programme of personalised physical activity support for people who have a stable, mild to moderate long term health condition.

The Exercise Referral Scheme is available to people aged 16 years and over with an existing health condition that could be improved by physical activity and aims to get participants who are not currently active feeling more confident with exercise. The programme will be adapted by our experienced instructors to best support the management of your health condition taking into account your goals.

This programme is most suited to people who are currently inactive (typically defined as less than 30 minutes of activity a week). Session are £3 each. To understand if this programme is right for you, please complete the Contact Form, a member of the team will then be in touch.

There are a range of available activities across different areas and venues, currently the programme operates from Hinckley Leisure Centre and Sport in Desford.

• Fitness/gym based personalised exercise programmes
• Swimming pool-based activities including aqua aerobics

Regular reviews will take place to adapt your programme if required throughout the 12 weeks. At the end of the programme we will review your progress and look at ways you can continue being active.
